Preschool/PreK
Preschool & PreK Program
Our Preschool and Pre-K Programs offer a stimulating environment where your child can develop independence, self-esteem and resiliency. The program provides the social and academic foundation that prepares children for the eventual transition to Kindergarten and later learning. Grounded in the Brazelton Touchpoints Approach, we respond to your child’s individual stages of development while helping you interpret and respond to his or her unique behaviors and strengths.
Our Preschool and Pre-K classrooms are designed to allow plenty of opportunity for exploration, and our low teacher-child ratios facilitate lots of individualized attention.
Bright, expansive rooms encourage active and creative play, climbing lofts to build strong bodies and adventurous minds, child-sized toilets help build self-reliance. Age-appropriate games, books, blocks, dramatic play, art supplies, sensory tables and manipulative toys enhance motor skills and intellectual curiosity. Twice daily children enjoy outdoors play on the playground, in our sandbox and summer spray pool, and on our open field. When bad weather forces us indoors, children play in our full-sized auditorium and gymnasium equipped with scooters, balls and tumbling equipment (keeping your child’s health and well-being in mind, we sanitize toys and equipment each day). Age-appropriate games, books, blocks, art supplies and manipulative toys enhance motor skills and intellectual curiosity. In keeping with COVID-19 precautions, we have created individual learning boxes for each child with markers, crayons, scissors, etc. All sensory play will be individualized to prevent cross contamination.
Are we forming children who are only capable of learning what is already known? Or should we try to develop creative and innovative minds, capable of discovery from the preschool age on, throughout life?
