Parent Advisory Committee
Come Together
Your children aren’t the only ones making friends for life at Family ACCESS!
Our Parent Advisory Committee (PAC) creates a vibrant community for parents to have fun together, learn together, and support their children’s classrooms. All parents are invited to attend the monthly meetings.
Monthly meetings are held on the 2nd* Tuesday of the month from 6 to 7 pm in the Cooper Room. Childcare and pizza for dinner are provided – advanced sign up required, please RSVP by NOON the day before the meeting at PAC@familyaccess.org. Importantly, teachers will transition children to the pizza party if desired!
Fun and games on the PAC calendar have included but are not limited to the annual Halloween Fair, a multi-cultural potluck dinner, play dates in the Family ACCESS gym/playground on holidays, and a mid-summer family picnic.
Because you have a hundred questions about parenting, PAC presents educational opportunities focused on topics important to you and your family. Previous seminars covered Preparing for Kindergarten, Raising Healthy Eaters, and Saving for College.
And, when your classrooms have a dream for something out of the ordinary, PAC raises funds to help make it a reality. Fundraisers like the annual Halloween Fair have helped equip the school library, install a sandbox dedicated to toddlers, among other cool things. In addition, parents have participated in NewtonServes, a city-wide day of service in April/May, to lend some TLC to the Family ACCESS building and grounds.
